New fashion shops for Bradwell's Court

9th January 2006

With work due to commence in the coming months on the redevelopment of Bradwell’s Court, the developers reveal that already three units have been pre-let to major fashion retailers.

Land Securities, the company behind the scheme, have announced that Zara, Bank and H&M will be among the first tenants, so ensuring the new-look Bradwell’s Court will be a real fashion hot spot when it re-opens in late 2007.

Zara is part of Inditex, one of the world’s largest fashion retail groups operating in over 50 countries. The shop, which sells men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, will have a prime location on St Andrews Street, totalling over 15,000 sq ft spread over three floors.

Bank has almost 30 stores in the UK, selling urban streetwear. Its new 4,300 sq ft store in Bradwell’s Court represents a major step in its five year store opening programme.

H&M sells clothes and cosmetics in over 1,000 stores worldwide. Its new 18,000 sq ft shop in Bradwell’s Court will be its second store in Cambridge.

Rachel Trevillion, Development Manager at Land Securities commented, ‘Bradwell’s Court will be a fashion dominated scheme providing Cambridge with a number of retailers new to the city. We are very excited at the news of these first lettings, all well-known names that will enhance any shopping trip to Cambridge.’

The new Bradwell’s Court will be a 100,000 sq ft mixed-use scheme, comprising six new shops along Christ’s Lane, including one that has been specifically designed to be a café or a restaurant overlooking Christ’s Pieces. A further three large shops will face onto St Andrews Street.  Above the retail shops there will be 15 residential apartments.
